Error: The Field Name Is Not Known

You're getting the error "the field name is not known" or something similar.

---

The report doesn't have access to the database and/or the field or the field has been removed from the database.

It's one of a few issues (you'll have to figure out which one it is):

1. You're running the report without an ID and a password, and because of that, you don't have access to the data.

2. You're running without an ID and password, but you have the interface set to USE and ID and a password, but you didn't enter one. Consider toggling the check box so it doesn't try to enter a "blank" ID and password to set credentials.

3. If the report uses a DSN to connect to the database, maybe it is pointing to the wrong database which is missing the field in question. Verify the DSN is pointing to the correct datasource.

4. Open the report in Crystal Reports and do a Database, Verify Database to get the report back in sync with the current database.

These are all potential fixes. None of this is an error with Report Runner itself. We're just trying to give you things to look at to get the report to run. We do not know your database, security requirements, or how the reports are designed. These are specific things to check out based on the error message the report gave ("field missing").
